Pharmacy Technician III

About the role

Provides pharmaceutical care services under supervision, focusing on medication order processing, preparation, distribution, and inventory management. Ensures safe handling of medications, maintains automation equipment, and may assist in sterile product preparation. Contributes to operational goals and reports, and provides education as needed.

Responsibilities

• Practices the Medication-Use Process: procurement, handling, preparation, distribution, and disposal of medications.
• Manages pharmacy practice effectively and participates in inventory control.
• Operates and maintains pharmacy automation and equipment.
• Provides training and contributes to quality programs and reports.
• Supports sterile product preparation and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience includes handling prior authorizations, high-risk compounding, NICU/Pediatric pharmacy, or certification in related areas.
• Preferred experience with pharmacy automation, Microsoft applications, and hospital pharmacy.
• Education includes completion of a technician training program or enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school.
• Licensure with PTCB certification and registration with the state pharmacy board is mandatory; CPhT or pharmacy school enrollment preferred.
