Pharmacy Technician II (Onsite Specialty Outreach)

About the role

This is an onsite specialty outreach support role focused on customer service, with phone work making up 90% of the shift. The position involves contacting medical offices and patients, supporting pharmacist callback queues, and assisting with data entry and prescription clarifications.

Responsibilities

• Contacting medical offices to clarify and enter prescriptions
• Contacting patients to provide updates on prescription outcomes
• Supporting the Pharmacist callback queue by helping obtain refills and prescription clarifications
• Assisting with pre-QA/data entry
• Responding to email escalations
• Staying current with required training
• Interact with various departments to provide accurately fill prescriptions on a timely basis
• Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Maintain and update reports
• Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience
• Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses
• State (Texas - TSBP) pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located

Skills

• Comfortable handling phone calls and data entry with a positive, professional attitude
• Computer savvy; able to type at least 40 WPM
• Specialty pharmacy with Infusion and/or Oncology experience, highly preferred

Working shift: 9:30 AM - 6 PM (Central/CST)

Pay

$19.43 - $32.98 per hour
