Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician, Dispensing plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant medications that improve lives at scale across Empower's 503A and 503B compounding pharmacy operations. This role operates in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment where quality, throughput, and documentation accuracy directly impact patient safety and business performance. Responsibilities
- Dispensing Accuracy and Compliance
- Order Verification: Review prescriptions, patient information, product details, and labeling elements to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and readiness for pharmacist review.
- Label Precision: Prepare and apply accurate labels with correct dosing, auxiliary warnings, expiration details, and traceability elements.
- Documentation Discipline: Complete dispensing records in real time, ensuring audit readiness, data integrity, and alignment with internal procedures.
- Workflow Execution and Throughput
- Task Prioritization: Organize daily dispensing activities based on urgency, turnaround expectations, and workflow dependencies.
- Quality Pace: Maintain strong productivity while minimizing errors, reducing rework, and protecting quality standards.
- Issue Escalation: Identify discrepancies or risks early and communicate effectively to pharmacists or leadership.
- Technology Adoption and Continuous Improvement
- Technology and Workflow Execution: Use established systems and workflows to support accurate documentation, task visibility, and consistent execution.
- System Agility: Learn and adapt quickly to pharmacy systems, barcode tools, and evolving digital workflows.

Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of dispensing workflows, prescription accuracy standards, labeling requirements, and SOP adherence.
- Experience using pharmacy systems, barcode verification tools, and digital platforms to improve workflow efficiency.
- Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to perform accurately in fast-paced environments with strong organizational discipline and adaptability.
Experience and Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration, licensure, or certification as required by applicable state regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or healthcare-related training preferred.
- Previous experience in pharmacy operations, dispensing, production, fulfillment, or other regulated environments preferred.
- Proven ability to follow standardized processes, maintain documentation accuracy, and meet quality and compliance standards.
- Experience using technology and digital tools to improve work quality and efficiency preferred.
