Pharmacy Technician for OTP Clinic

Description

BAArt Programs is seeking a compassionate and customer service-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support healthcare providers and patients. The primary responsibilities include greeting patients, answering inquiries, maintaining inventory, ensuring safety, and assisting with medication preparation and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in person and by phone, providing assistance and addressing their needs.
• Answers questions and refers inquiries to the pharmacist as necessary.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Ensures a safe and clean environment by following infection control policies and protocols.
• Prepares medications for dispensing by reading orders, labeling, and calculating quantities.
• Generates charges and prepares reports as required.
• Delivers medications to patients and departments as needed.
• Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Currently licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the state where assigned.
• Understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State, and CARF standards and regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven excellent documentation and computer skills.
• Knowledge of local drug trends, effects of drugs on the body, signs and symptoms of drug overdoses, and addiction.
• Ability to work effectively within the medical hierarchy, solve complex problems, and provide excellent customer service.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
