Responsibilities
- Prepares and dispenses prescribed medications for patients.
- Performs compounding of intravenous medications.
- Assists in managing inventory.
- Performs charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes.
- Performs routine clerical/administrative tasks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which you’ll work
- Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which you’ll work
- 6 months experience compounding of IV medication
- Knowledge:
- Pharmaceutical patient care best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Basic pharmaceutical mathematics and financial functions.
- Abilities:
- Prepare and compound various medications, including intravenous admixtures.
- Apply pharmacy standards and procedures, including I.V. admixture and automated systems.
- Communicate effectively in English and establish positive working relationships.
