The position of Pharmacy Technician is remote and based in the United States. This role involves supporting members, providers, and pharmacies with accurate, compassionate guidance. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering accurate, efficient, and empathetic assistance across multiple communication channels.
  2. Managing pharmacy-related inquiries, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring every interaction contributes to a seamless healthcare experience.
  3. Serving as the primary support contact for members, providers, and pharmacies through phone, chat, email, and written communication.
  4. Resolving questions related to pharmacy benefits, medication costs, formulary coverage, prior authorizations, claims, and prescription processing.
  5. Aiding pharmacies with claims review and ensuring transactions align with benefit guidelines and contract requirements.
  6. Supporting clinical teams with patient outreach, appointment scheduling, program enrollment, and medication adherence initiatives.
  7. Documenting interactions, resolutions, and follow-up actions accurately within internal systems to support compliance, quality assurance, and reporting.
  8. Taking ownership of issues from initial inquiry through resolution while collaborating with internal teams when additional support is required.
  9. Using AI-enabled tools and knowledge platforms to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in member support.
  10. Contributing to a collaborative, inclusive team environment and supporting additional operational projects as needed.

Requirements include:

  • An active and current National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA.
  • 1-3 years of pharmacy technician experience in a health plan, retail pharmacy, PBM contact center, TPA, mail order, or specialty pharmacy environment.
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • A strong understanding of pharmacy claims adjudication, benefit structures, formularies, and PBM terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to providing empathetic, high-quality service.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve issues beyond surface-level symptoms.
  • Comfort working independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
