The position of Pharmacy Technician is remote and based in the United States. This role involves supporting members, providers, and pharmacies with accurate, compassionate guidance. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering accurate, efficient, and empathetic assistance across multiple communication channels.
- Managing pharmacy-related inquiries, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring every interaction contributes to a seamless healthcare experience.
- Serving as the primary support contact for members, providers, and pharmacies through phone, chat, email, and written communication.
- Resolving questions related to pharmacy benefits, medication costs, formulary coverage, prior authorizations, claims, and prescription processing.
- Aiding pharmacies with claims review and ensuring transactions align with benefit guidelines and contract requirements.
- Supporting clinical teams with patient outreach, appointment scheduling, program enrollment, and medication adherence initiatives.
- Documenting interactions, resolutions, and follow-up actions accurately within internal systems to support compliance, quality assurance, and reporting.
- Taking ownership of issues from initial inquiry through resolution while collaborating with internal teams when additional support is required.
- Using AI-enabled tools and knowledge platforms to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in member support.
- Contributing to a collaborative, inclusive team environment and supporting additional operational projects as needed.
Requirements include:
- An active and current National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA.
- 1-3 years of pharmacy technician experience in a health plan, retail pharmacy, PBM contact center, TPA, mail order, or specialty pharmacy environment.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- A strong understanding of pharmacy claims adjudication, benefit structures, formularies, and PBM terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to providing empathetic, high-quality service.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve issues beyond surface-level symptoms.
- Comfort working independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
