Responsibilities

  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Adhere to and reinforce all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, guidelines, and procedures according to company, local, state, and federal health codes; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
  • Follow company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
  • Maintain departmental standards, including clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
  • Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
  • Complete billing procedures to ensure best value for the customer and the company.
  • Answer phones, triage calls, and respond to inquiries appropriately.
  • Adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, limits on cash shortages, and company shrink guidelines.
  • Operate the cash register following all cashier handling policies, including tendering electronic fund transactions (credit/debit cards, EBT, gift cards), cash, and checks to prevent loss.
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring a pharmacist's professional judgment.
  • Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and company policies regarding the same.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Qualifications

  • Any previous comparable experience.
  • Any equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk.
  • EPRN familiarity.

Skills

  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
