Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

The Data Entry Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service and accurately billing compounded preparations based on patient-specific prescriptions.

Job Activities and Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of patient information and receive patient payment
• Check prescriptions for completeness and enter necessary information into the computer to generate prescription labels and invoices (if necessary)
• Communicate with prescribers to obtain refill authorization, receive refills by phone, and relay messages
• Work under the supervision of a pharmacist and assist with large account orders as needed
• Maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Investigate incidences and document variances as needed, including resolving issues
• Be cross-trained to assist with other tasks as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• A High School Diploma is preferred
• Must be a Stated Licensed Pharmacy Technician to perform compounding activities
• Excellent work ethic and personal drive to excel independently
• Solid PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft software
• Certified Technician is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
• Standing for extended periods
• Fine motor skills
• Visual acuity
