Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital. This position is over-night, 7 days on/7 days off.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Florida licensed pharmacy intern or currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CphT) preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and prescriptions drug names
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, PC skills, analytical skills, and clerical skills
What You Will Do
- Prepare and dispense drugs in accordance with standard procedures
- Document and maintain appropriate records
- Count, package, and label unit dosis for inspection by pharmacist
- Assist pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels
- Perform quality control and auditing functions to ensure medications are appropriately available
- Prepare I.V. mixtures and operate automated systems
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and perform clerical duties
- Contribute to work towards hospital improvement meeting core measures and service excellence goals
- Report significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes in patient care resulting in patient harm
