Responsibilities
- Answers phones.
- Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.
- Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and/or robots (example shelves, carousels, Parata).
- Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Inpatient Only: Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Outpatient Only: Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist.
- Takes verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production.
- Processes third party claims.
Requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Have a high school or equivalent diploma, or be working to achieve a high school or equivalent diploma (2 years of customer service experience preferred for outpatient pharmacy positions).
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required within 9 months from date of hire.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.
- Able to multitask and have attention to detail.
- Able to maintain composure under stressful situations.
Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required.
- If not registered at hire, must register with the Board within 15 days of start of employment as a pharmacy technician and post such registration in the pharmacy within 30 days (NH 803.01; 4).
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations.

Benefits
Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus available for both Registered and Certified Pharmacy Technicians.
Pay
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's new competitive Pharmacy Technician salary range starts at $17.00 per hour for Registered Techs and $22.00 per hour for Certified Techs, and increases for candidates with prior Pharmacy Technician experience.
