As a new Pharmacy Technician, you will complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all state-specific registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Initial duties may be restricted until all requirements are met, after which you can expand your role and build your clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge to advance your pharmacy career.
In select markets, collective bargaining agreement rules regarding the Pharmacy Technician role may apply. Responsibilities
- Ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for patients.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to promptly, safely, and accurately fill patient prescriptions.
- Provide caring service that exceeds customer expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Complete an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all state-specific registration, licensing, and certification requirements.
- Expand duties and build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge as you progress in your role.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Licensure requirements vary by state.

- Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication; actively listen and respond appropriately.
- Mathematical Reasoning: Use math to solve problems, such as calculating day’s supply of a prescription.

Physical Demands
- Remaining upright on your feet for sustained periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks, including moving between work areas.
- Using fingers for tasks such as typing, picking, or pinching.
- Extending hands and arms in any direction.
- Bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
- Stooping considerably and using lower extremities and back muscles.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken word with accuracy.
- Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels and receiving detailed information orally.
- Close visual acuity for activities such as transcribing, reading, and inspecting small parts.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs; exerting up to 30 lbs of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, or negligible force constantly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (preferred).
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred).
- PTCB National Certification (preferred).
Schedule
This is a part-time position with an anticipated weekly schedule of 20 hours.
Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.
