About the role

This full-time Pharmacy Technician II position supports the daily operations of the pharmacy at PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of Aiken. The role assists pharmacists with prescription preparation, inventory management, order processing, and customer communications within pharmacy business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; closed weekends and company holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment.
  • Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items.
  • Enters medical supply orders into the pharmacy system.
  • Communicates professionally with patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Processes returned medications for credit or destruction.
  • Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Maintains knowledge of and complies with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • South Carolina pharmacy technician license required.
  • IV certification preferred.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred.
  • In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a group and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to focus on tasks, evaluate operating conditions, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Flexibility in working schedule.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, and standing for an entire shift.
  • Vendor credentialing may be required.

Pay

Anticipated hourly range: $16.40 – $21.15 per hour. Pay is determined by multiple factors including geographical location, relevant education, experience, skill, and internal pay equity.
