About the role

The Pharmacy Technician, Ambulatory uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information to process prescriptions. Assists the pharmacists in performing technical duties related to the distribution of drugs to patients. Develops strong relationships with colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors medication inventory levels and places orders to restock.
  • Supports pharmacological services by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level.
  • Places and expedites orders.
  • Reads medication orders and prescriptions.
  • Prepares labels and calculates quantities.
  • Compounds sterile and non-sterile products and other pharmaceutical therapies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous hospital or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
  • CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification preferred (State of Pennsylvania).
