About the role

The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician II/III performs a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting. They assist the pharmacist in preparing medications for patient use, facilitating the distribution of medications, including delivering medications to the patient's bedside (Med-2-Bed program), performing computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions, maintaining inventory levels, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing medications for patient use according to established procedures.
  • Facilitate the distribution of medications including delivery of medications to the patient's bedside (Med-2-Bed program).
  • Perform computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions.
  • Maintain inventory levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of retail experience for Pharmacy Tech II.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of retail experience for Pharmacy Tech III.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
  • Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of experience working in an HIV/AIDS care or specialty pharmacy.
  • Experience with HIV/AIDS medications, including billing copay cards, leveraging Patient Access Programs, and other copay support programs, when applicable.
  • Experience using an adherence packaging machine.
  • At least 4 years experience with medication ordering and inventory management or equivalent.
  • 340b regulatory knowledge and background.
  • Flexible to address any pharmacy need that may arise, especially those that are unexpected or sudden.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay & Benefits

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,998 - $68,403 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Hourly Equivalent: $26.34 - $32.76
