About the role
This position supports Encinitas Infusion Pharmacy. Duties include daily IV preparation, medication inventory management, Pyxis Med Station medication distribution, and other supportive operational tasks.Responsibilities
- Daily preparation of IVs, including chemotherapy and supportive medications
- Aid in medication inventory management and purchasing
- Medication distribution via Pyxis Med Station
- Other supportive operational duties in a scheduled area
Requirements
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) for Pharmacy Tech III
- Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy for both Pharmacy Tech II/III
- Minimum of two (2) years for Pharmacy Tech II of relevant experience (Infusion pharmacy, sterile compounding, inpatient pharmacy)
- Minimum of five (5) years for Pharmacy Tech III of relevant experience (Infusion pharmacy, sterile compounding, inpatient pharmacy)
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations
- Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills
- Detail and organizational skills to sort, file and retrieve information
- Ability to manage assigned workload within deadlines
- Ability to work in a self-directed work team environment and function effectively in a high-volume, multiple demand environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in sterile compounding
- Familiarity with the requirements of USP Chapters and
- Experience with inventory management in Epic
