Pharmacy Tech II - Full Time
About the role
The Pharmacy Technician-Level 2 assists the Pharmacist with technical and non-technical routine duties related to the acquisition, storage and dispensing of medications, chemicals, and related supplies. This position supports organizational goals and values by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work, respect and cooperation.
Responsibilities
- Prepares medication orders, automated dispensing machines, delivers medications to the nursing units, and fills medication carts and other equipment.
- Screens prescriptions, interacts with patients and customers, performs prescription profile services, and prepares prescriptions to be dispensed.
- Performs routine clerical duties, and cashier functions in support of operations.
- Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, prepares I.V., piggybacks and TPNs according to established policies and procedures.
- Performs other dispensing duties according to established policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy - Required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
- 1 year pharmacy experience preferred.
- Good math skills required; good customer service skills also required.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Licenses/Certifications: Registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy - Required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
- Experience: 1 year pharmacy experience preferred.
- Skills: Good math skills required; good customer service skills also required.
