Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations team to prepare and dispense medications, including: Counting, Labeling, Packing medications
  • Avoid daily maintenance and inventory tasks such as: Unpacking medication deliveries, Receiving and organizing supply orders
  • Process prescriptions for patients in the ambulatory/specialty setting
  • Collect complete and accurate medication histories
  • Ensure prescriptions are ready for pharmacist review and verification
  • Communicate coverage details, payment responsibilities, and prescription status to patients and clinical staff
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, social workers, and specialty pharmacy teams to ensure medication access
  • Provide timely follow-up to resolve outstanding documentation or coverage needs
  • Determine insurance requirements for pre-certification, coverage limitations, and patient responsibility
  • Gather financial and clinical information needed for claim adjudication
  • Escalate coverage issues promptly to clinical teams

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • PA State Registered Technician
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • 1 year of retail pharmacy technician experience (Preferred)
