Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Operations team to prepare and dispense medications, including: Counting, Labeling, Packing medications
- Avoid daily maintenance and inventory tasks such as: Unpacking medication deliveries, Receiving and organizing supply orders
- Process prescriptions for patients in the ambulatory/specialty setting
- Collect complete and accurate medication histories
- Ensure prescriptions are ready for pharmacist review and verification
- Communicate coverage details, payment responsibilities, and prescription status to patients and clinical staff
- Collaborate with pharmacists, social workers, and specialty pharmacy teams to ensure medication access
- Provide timely follow-up to resolve outstanding documentation or coverage needs
- Determine insurance requirements for pre-certification, coverage limitations, and patient responsibility
- Gather financial and clinical information needed for claim adjudication
- Escalate coverage issues promptly to clinical teams
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- PA State Registered Technician
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- 1 year of retail pharmacy technician experience (Preferred)
