Responsibilities
- Data entry of prescriptions and insurance adjudication.
- Fill medication orders for pharmacist review.
- Place daily order with drug wholesaler, facilitate pick up of medications from other pharmacies, and stock pharmacy medications and supplies.
- Maintain accurate logs pertaining to cleaning, refrigerator temperatures, etc. related to USP 797.
- Verify received drug shipments against invoice, and stock shelves.
- Return unused medication to stock or dispose of properly per policy.
- Prepare compounded products, checked by pharmacist.
- Gather and document a patient's medication history to ensure patient safety and accurate medication administration by:
- Interviewing the patient, family, or caregiver.
- Reviewing charts and calling pharmacies and physician offices.
- Identify errors in patient history and communicate with appropriate staff.
- Update database with medication history information.
- Collect medication history for upcoming surgical patients via phone calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum: Two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Minimum: Indiana Pharmacy Technician license and National Accredited Certification.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Pharmacy Tech State License.
- Preferred: Pharm Tech National Certification.
