Pharmacy Tech - Automation, Days

About the role

Ensures that the automated dispensing machines (ADMs) are used efficiently and safely in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Responsible for successful coordination, implementation, and upgrades of pharmacy automation and technical solutions. Serves as subject matter expert for Pharmacy Technology and Automation Systems, defining and documenting business rules and best practices with pharmacy and technical staff. Performs duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure automated dispensing machines (ADMs) are used efficiently and safely in patient pharmaceutical care.
• Operate in compliance with standard procedures, guidelines, and state/federal regulations.
• Coordinate, implement, and upgrade pharmacy automation and technical solutions.
• Serve as subject matter expert for Pharmacy Technology and Automation Systems and their implementation process.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices.
• Perform Pharmacy Technician duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, including work with automated dispensing machines.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R).
• PTCB Certification preferred.
