Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. Full Time, Rotate.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
• Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner.
• Fill/refill emergency crash carts, boxes, and kits timely and accurately.
• Re-package and label oral medications/extemporaneous preparations and maintain appropriate records.
• Respond appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests, and ADC stock out bulletins.
• Assure all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Stock medications into pharmacy inventory, including sterile compounding areas.
• Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Attend to medication requests and phone calls.
• Prepare simple IV admixtures (excluding chemotherapy, biotherapy) accurately, consistent with IV policies and procedures (USP and USP).
• Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures.
• Assist in performing various duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience Required: Must be 18 years of age.
• PREFERRED: Hospital experience.
• Certifications Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license/certification, as required by state law.
• PREFERRED: Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification.
