UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist in pharmacy operations.
- Participate as a member of a team with reliability and punctuality.
- Perform related work as required.
- Maintain competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED.
- 2+ years previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
- Completion of sterile compounding training/competency (as required by State Board of Pharmacy).
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
