Explore Career Pathways for Pharmacy Professionals: Responsibilities The pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations. Can participate as a member of a team with reliability and punctuality. Does related work, as required. Maintain competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications. Qualifications Job Requirements : High School graduate or GED . 2 + years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs) . Completion of sterile compounding training/competency (as required by the State BOP) . Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by the state of employment . National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
