Pharmacy Tech

Job Description

Accurately measure, count, and label prescribed medications.
Ensure prescriptions are filled correctly, including reviewing the medication name, dosage, and instructions.
Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and health products.
Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while assisting customers.
Track and manage inventory, ensuring the pharmacy has a sufficient stock of medications and supplies.
Assist with ordering medications and supplies.
Organize the storage of medications according to their categories and regulatory requirements.
Properly store medications, including controlled substances, per regulatory guidelines.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of pharmacy areas.
Update and maintain accurate patient records.
Assist in ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies.

• Some technicians may assist in compounding medications, preparing specialized doses, or mixing medications as prescribed by a pharmacist.
• Handle administrative tasks such as managing prescription logs, updating patient files, and performing billing and insurance verifications.
• In certain settings, pharmacy techs may help with medication therapy reviews and assist patients in understanding proper medication use.

Must be flexible and able to rotate between office locations as required.
