Pharmacy Tech

Job Duties

• Affords assistance to the pharmacist on duty as the primary responsibility.
• Executes all duties as directed by the pharmacist.
• Performs basic calculations and enters data accurately and efficiently from new prescriptions received via electronic prescribing, fax, and handwritten or transferred prescriptions.
• Communicates effectively with nursing and clinical staff and answers phone calls prioritizing customer service and assisting customers appropriately.
• Maintains patient profiles with the most up-to-date information.
• Dispenses completed prescriptions under the pharmacist’s supervision, ensuring the correct drug is filled and the appropriate quantity is dispensed.
• Rotates through various tasks to engage in different activities each day.
• Restocks the pharmacy shelves with supplies, drugs, etc., as needed.
• Processes orders in the computer for ordering of medications and supplies when necessary.
• Processes returns, outdated items according to established procedures.
• Develops a current knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures and supports them.
• Completes assigned training willingly and in a timely manner.
• Completes file maintenance of RX hard copies and invoices.
• Welcomes clients at pharmacy intake in a friendly manner.
• Builds and maintains good relationships with co-workers, patient care personnel, clients, and others to ensure a smooth-running pharmacy.
• Helps resolve insurance issues.

About the Role

Family & Children's Services operates to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. The role involves working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care known as the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

The CCBHC model employs an innovative, team-based approach and whole-person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges. It utilizes multi-disciplinary teams that collaborate to enhance client recovery.

Schedule

Up to 34 paid days off in the first year.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a pharmacy technician program is preferred but not required. Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

Must possess excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure. Knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures is essential.
