About the role

A dependable part-time Pharmacy Clerk position at Medicap Pharmacy in Greenfield, IA. This role focuses on serving patients and customers, managing transactions, and maintaining store appearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and customers by running the cash register for over-the-counter sales, greeting customers, offering assistance, receiving payments, and providing other requested services.
• Assist patients via the drive-up window for added convenience.
• Maintain over-the-counter stock of medications by reviewing shipments, pricing products, and stocking shelves.
• Prepare mail-order and delivery prescriptions by contacting patients, calculating charges, packaging prescriptions, and mailing them.
• Place orders for supplies, prepare drug returns, and submit data for supplier approval.
• Keep product shelves and counters neat, clean, and well-organized by "facing" shelves, checking expiration dates, and removing expired or short-dated products.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the storefront and waiting area through regular cleaning activities.
• Develop courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team to ensure patient satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience.
• Pharmacy clerks must register with the state Board of Pharmacy for identification, tracking, and disciplinary action. Registration expires every two years on the last day of the registrant's birth month; no continuing education is required for renewal.
