Pharmacy Program Specialist

Support and assist in the coordination of Pharmacy Services activities including preparation of sterile compounds both hazardous and non-hazardous using aseptic technique, compounding pharmacy maintenance and scheduled cleanings, inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies, ordering, stocking and receiving of medications and supplies, processes specialty orders, and maintains and stocks automated dispensing machine (ADM) where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounds (hazardous and non-hazardous) using aseptic technique.
  • Maintain and perform scheduled cleanings of the compounding pharmacy.
  • Manage inventory of drugs and infusion supplies.
  • Order, stock, and receive medications and supplies.
  • Process specialty orders.
  • Maintain and stock automated dispensing machines (ADM) where applicable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Washington Pharmacy Technician License (upon hire).
  • Minimum of 3 years (6,240+ clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience and PTCB certification, or
  • 4 years (8,320+ hours) of experience if technician does not have PTCB certification.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy technician program coursework/training (may be required in some states).
  • Sterile compounding and hazardous drug coursework.
  • Specialty certification (e.g., ACPE-approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state.
  • PTCB certificate in Hazardous Drug Management (preferred).
  • Oncology experience and hospital work experience (preferred).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.41 - $43.47 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
