Pharmacy Processing Technician I

Job Requirements

• Accurately fill prescriptions and transcribe patient data into pharmacy software to generate labels for placement on product.
• Prepare product for shipment.
• Provide customer service to veterinarians, pet owners, and sales representatives.
• Manage filling of paperwork such as invoices and prescriptions.
• Complete other duties, assignments, and special projects as requested by Pharmacist on Duty.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
• Meet the requirements as defined in the Wisconsin Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• No experience required.
• One year of pharmacy technician or other customer order fulfillment experience is desired but not required.
• CPhT certification preferred.

Education & Training

• Must meet the requirements as defined in the Wisconsin Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Skills

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry.
• Ability to differentiate details related to product codes and descriptions (such as verifying a string of numbers).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in processes.
• Well-developed critical thinking skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
