Pharmacy Operations Manager
About the role
Manages operations and programs of assigned pharmacy areas, including staffing, hiring, terminations, evaluations, and coaching for pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.
Schedules pharmacy employees to meet productivity targets and department objectives. Acts as a liaison to campus leadership to resolve medication-related issues and execute campus strategies.
Communicates effectively with campus leaders and medical staff to promote cooperation and efficiency in providing patient pharmacy care needs.
Ensures department compliance with all state, federal, and other regulatory body requirements, serving as Consultant of Record with the state Board of Pharmacy as applicable.
Manages medication distribution, optimizes medication utilization, minimizes product waste, maximizes inventory turns, and enhances staff productivity.
Maintains a practice environment consistent with contemporary hospital practices, patient-centered clinical services, traditional therapeutics, professional standards, and pharmacy innovations.
Ensures medication preparation and distribution systems align with evidence-based best practices and comply with all healthcare regulatory requirements and applicable laws.
Assists the Director of Pharmacy with budget preparation and manages assigned budgets and financial resources, including cost control and surveillance programs.
Collaborates with healthcare providers and decentralized pharmacy staff to deliver patient-centered care and appropriate medication therapy.
Serves as a preceptor/educator for pharmacy residency and student experiential education programs, maintaining proficiency in preceptor roles and active education/mentorship skills.
Performs all pharmacist functions, maintains proficiency by staffing in operational programs, and participates in dispensing and compounding activities.

Requirements
Doctorate [Required] Master's [Preferred] Field Of Study in pharmacy in health administration, pharmacy, pharmacy administration, business administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership
1+ years of pharmaceutical experience [Preferred] 5+ years of pharmacy practice experience in a large hospital (greater than 500 bed institution) and integrated healthcare system (three or more hospitals in system) [Preferred]
PGY-1 pharmacy resident or equivalent experience [Preferred] PGY2 Specialty Residency or Fellowship or equivalent experience. [Preferred]
