Pharmacy Operations Coordinator - Outpatient Specialty

About the role

The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator participates, and oversees, various activities of pharmacy practice such as prescription order entry, claim adjudication, preparation & dispensing of medications, medication distribution, non-sterile and sterile compounding, inventory management, including the use of automated pharmacy devices and equipment, record maintenance, handling of controlled substances, communication with patients, and maintenance of assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Participates in or leads the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimizations of standards and workflows in designated area of specialty.
• Executes audits, interviews, performance evaluations, training, and / or education.
• Assesses and adjusts for the age-specific needs of the patients.
• Performs duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Education: Associate degree, Registered pharmacy technician, or Pharmacist Intern
• Certification or completion of a professionally recognized training program in a related specialty area
• Two (2) years of practice experience in relevant practice setting. Advanced experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
