About the role
As a Pharmacy Supervisor at The GIANT Company, you will oversee pharmacy staff (including pharmacists, technicians, and clerks), ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws for prescription and non-prescription medications, and manage daily pharmacy operations. Your responsibilities will include patient safety, regulatory adherence, quality assurance, customer service, personnel management, inventory control, financial profitability, and workflow management. You will also lead clinical programs such as Medication Therapy Management (MTM), immunizations, diabetic education classes, and health screenings.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, including filling prescriptions accurately (translating, filling, verifying, and post-verifying).
- Provide customer counseling and ensure pharmacy staff delivers remarkable customer service.
- Communicate with healthcare teams, patients, and third-party insurance companies.
- Operate pharmacy systems, including computer filling systems, email, and fax machines.
- Handle inventory management, including ordering, addressing out-of-stocks, managing outdates, conducting biennial physical inventory, and maintaining inventory goals.
- Complete and file paperwork as per company policy.
- Supervise pharmacy staff (pharmacists, technicians, cashiers, and interns), including hiring, training, work assignments, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws.
- Assist with Health & Beauty Care (HBC) items and counseling.
- Lead clinical programs such as MTM, diabetic education classes, health screenings, and immunizations based on business needs.
- Attend mandatory meetings, training sessions, and twice-yearly physical inventory.
- Provide offsite vaccinations and maintain pharmacy cleanliness, including floor care, construction, and sanitation.
- Resolve temperature excursions in the pharmacy and develop response plans for after-hours alerts to maintain refrigerated medication integrity.
- Meet with store management to review metrics, set goals, and objectives.
- Seek community marketing opportunities, such as immunization clinics and community participation.
Qualifications
- Pharmacy supervision experience, including staff management.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Experience with inventory management, financial profitability, and workflow optimization.
- Ability to lead clinical programs and provide patient counseling.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare teams, patients, and insurance providers.

Pay
Salary range: $126,880 – $190,320 per year.
