About the role

Careers in the Department of Pharmaceutical Services at WVUH offer a unique opportunity to coordinate and manage the distribution and clinical services provided by the department. This role involves overseeing personnel and educational programs, ensuring compliance with national standards, and promoting safe and effective use of pharmacy resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements processes to ensure staff competence and performance.
  • Formulates and refines systems for drug distribution and clinical services.
  • Directs the activities of staff and monitors performance.
  • Serves as a supervisor and performs personnel functions such as interviewing, hiring, and performance management.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures related to drug distribution.
  • Coordinates staff schedules and ensures availability of work schedules.
  • Investigates and studies trends in pharmacy practice and implements new products and procedures.
  • Works with the administrative team to develop and maintain performance improvement indicators and programs.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets and monitors financial indicators.
  • Establishes systems to encourage effective communication and working relationships.
  • Maintains professional knowledge and skills through continuing education and involvement in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Current license as required by state board where services will be provided (MD: Active Pharmacist License, WV: Active Pharmacist License, PA: Active Pharmacist License).
  • Experience in health-system pharmacy administration residency programs or pharmacy administration.
  • Three (3) years of pharmacy administrative experience or five (5) years of pharmacist practice experience.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Health-System Pharmacy Administration, or Public Health.
  • Pharmacy Specialty Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS).

Qualifications

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
