About the Role

Practice at the top of your license by delivering patient-centered clinical services, including immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), while playing an active role in improving health outcomes beyond prescription fulfillment.

  • Lead, coach, and support pharmacy technicians and associates in delivering exceptional customer service
  • Help create a culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Support pharmacy performance through prescription growth, customer engagement, and clinical services
  • Promote preventive care and wellness programs that improve the health of our communities
  • Champion immunizations, medication adherence, health screenings, and other patient care initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations in the pharmacy department
  • Responsible for filling prescriptions accurately (translating, filling, verifying, and post-verifying)
  • Provide customer counseling and remarkable customer service; ensure pharmacy staff does the same
  • Communicate with the entire healthcare team, patients, and third-party insurance companies
  • Operate computer filling system, email, and fax machines
  • Answer phones
  • Inventory management, including ordering, addressing out-of-stocks, addressing outdates, biennial physical inventory, Supply Logix, and maintaining inventory goals
  • Complete and file paperwork as per company policy
  • Interface with supervision, operations, field support, and store management
  • Supervise pharmacy staff (staff pharmacist, technicians, cashiers, and interns), including hiring, training, work assignments, performance reviews, and terminations
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • Assist with HBC items and HBC counseling
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and state laws
  • Lead clinical programs, including but not limited to MTM, diabetic education classes, health screenings, Time My Meds, and immunizations based on business needs
  • Attend twice-yearly physical inventory
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions based on business needs
  • Provide offsite vaccinations
  • Perform pharmacy maintenance, including floor care, construction, and sanitation
  • Meet with store management team regularly to review metrics, set goals, and objectives
  • Resolve temperature excursions in the pharmacy, including creating response plans for after-hours alerts to maintain the integrity of refrigerated medication
  • Seek out marketing opportunities in the community (immunization clinics, community participation)

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist license in the state of practice
  • Current immunization certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Experience leading pharmacy teams
