Job Summary
Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of Venice and is currently hiring for a Pharmacy Manager. Pharmacy business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm and on-call as needed.
Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates all clinical activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including supervision of refilling machines, medical prescriptions database entries and dispatch of medicines.
- Plans, coordinates, directs and evaluates all administrative activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy, including scheduling of pharmacy technicians tasks, monitoring process compliance and monthly reporting.
- Implements process and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling including reception and storage of medicines, inventory and expenses controls.
- Manages day to day activities of the pharmacy technicians and monitors their performance to meet departmental goals.
- In the absence of medicines, communicates with nursing, doctors and administrative areas to provide alternatives and also makes and/or supervises preparation of interveinal drugs.
- Maintains pharmacist’s certifications and maintenance of database privileges and access controls to medical records.
- Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist.
- Affords pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist.
- Maintains inventory control and executes necessary orders, including reviews, to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs, identifying and procuring alternative drugs to mitigate risks, when necessary.
- Leads processes for hiring of pharmacy staff, onboarding, and performance management, including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.
- Manages internal workflows of acute pharmacy, including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.
- Participates in meetings and provides insight to hospital committees to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups.
- Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs, increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business.
- Assumes responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring and completing End of the Month reports as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
- Must be a "good standing" licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
- Able to serve as Florida Consultant of Record (COR).
- Hospital/inpatient experience strongly preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
- Board Certification(s) preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency and/or fellowship preferred.
- Ability to develop, implement and lead all aspects of pharmacy operation.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and health care professionals.
- Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills.
- Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills.
- Pressure to perform in emergency situations.
- Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation.
- May require vendor credentialing.

Salary Range
The anticipated salary range is $111,500 - $175,340. Bonus eligible: No.
