Pharmacy Intern PRN

Responsibilities

• Fills medication cassettes under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Prepares IV medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Prints out and fills label requests for First does and Stat medications
• All labels and medications are inspected by a pharmacist prior to being delivered
• Fills Floor Stock and Controlled Substances requests under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Delivers supplies and medications to other departments as needed
• Re-packages bulk forms of medications into unit dose packaging
• Completes accompanying records which are then co-signed by the inspecting pharmacist
• Orders, unpacks and stores supplies
• Ensures all items are verified against invoice before being stored
• Compiles outdated medications through monthly inspection of Pharmacy, and returns to appropriate vendor
• Performs Quality Improvement activities as directed
• Performs other duties as requested

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an approved School of Pharmacy program at an accredited college
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration
• Certificate as a Pharmacy Intern required
• One to two year’s experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
