About the role
The Pharmacy Intern performs the professional functions associated with the practice of Pharmacy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

- Drug distribution
- IV compounding
- Works as a pharmacy technician or inventory control clerk when needed
Requirements
Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of General Education Requirements and be enrolled in an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. Candidates with lesser experience but are focused on pursuing a career in pharmacy will be considered if open positions allow. A current NY State Pharmacy Intern License in good standing is required.
Experience
Prior experience in institutional pharmacy is preferred.
Competencies
The pharmacy intern must demonstrate growth and development of knowledge required to access data reflective of the patients status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements and to provide the pharmaceutical care needed, appropriate to the age of the patient and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures. The intern must demonstrate competency in the nuances between acute and ambulatory/home infusion patients.
Compliance
Pharmacy staff is responsible for ensuring that all departmental and institutional aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to. The employee must comply with all federal and state standards, with an emphasis on preventing fraud and abuse.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.82/hr.
