Pharmacy Intern Position Overview
Pharmacy Intern team members are primarily responsible for receiving and inputting medication orders into computer via fax or phone from facilities under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of the pharmacy software package.
- Print labels and delivery sheets to allow technicians to fill orders.
- Check final prepared medications for accuracy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Provide drug information in an easily understood manner as requested by facility staff.
- Research and clarify medication orders that are incomplete or unclear.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program to become a licensed Pharmacist.
- Registration with the Board of Pharmacy as required by individual state.
