Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Handling medical questions and counseling patients
  • Telephonic prescription processing
  • Inventory management
  • Supporting immunizations
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and patient satisfaction
• Operating as part of the pharmacy team by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Learning to operate with empathy and genuine care, and contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace
• Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, and actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and skills
• Supporting additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing, where applicable

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possession, or process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
• Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly
• Customer service and team orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people and responding appropriately
• Communication skills: Using and understanding verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
• Problem resolution: Identifying and resolving challenging patient or colleague interactions
• Physical demands: Being mobile and remaining upright for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead, stretching, and bending
