About the Role
Beacon has an excellent opportunity available within our clinic as a Pharmacy Grants and Free Drug Specialist. This role offers exciting, flexible, and stimulating work with meaningful advancement opportunities. The specialist coordinates with patients, healthcare providers, and the care team to secure free medication and grant assistance, ensuring patients receive the resources they need.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates with patients and providers to prepare required forms for patients to receive necessary free drug and grants.
- Completes submission and post-award activities of grants received.
- Ensures compliance with conditions of free drug and grants by monitoring and analyzing agreements, contracts, expenses, activities, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Maintains records and prepares reports related to grants issued and/or received.
- Builds and sustains community relationships to improve positive outcomes for patients.
- Works with the entire care team to identify and aid patients with their unique needs.
- Cross-trains in prior authorization duties of the pharmacy to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Understanding of free drug and grants is a strong plus.
- Medical and/or pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
Skills
- Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
