Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of the Pharmacy Department, ensuring compliance with patient care quality standards for all age groups, from newborns to the elderly.
• Direct and control the purchase and inventory maintenance of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
• Collaborate with hospital administration on department planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education, and human resources activities.
• Monitor Pharmacy Department activities to ensure efficient and effective operation, taking corrective action as needed.
• Collaborate closely with nursing, medical staff, and other clinical department managers to address Pharmacy Department issues related to patient care.
• Understand dosage variations for different age groups (newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) and apply appropriate guidelines.
• Monitor the provision of patient pharmaceutical care to optimize safety and reduce the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
• Coordinate the development, revision, implementation, and communication of Pharmacy Department policies, guidelines, and standards in accordance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and federal/state regulations.

Requirements

• Current Pharmacist certification or licensure in the State of Nevada.
• At least five (5) years of experience in a management role.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
