Job Duties

  • Support statewide oversight of the privatized pharmacy vendor by monitoring contract compliance, reviewing deliverables, resolving service delivery issues, and maintaining continuous communication with the Contract Manager and contractor.
  • Provide technical expertise on pharmacy operations, including USP 795/797/800 compliance, sterile and hazardous compounding, implementation of Health Services Bulletins, and correctional pharmacy workflows.
  • Aid in hands-on pharmacy tasks when needed to ensure uninterrupted medication fulfillment, including compounding support, inventory inspections, and coordinating medication and supply orders.
  • Contribute to policy development, training, corrective action plans, and the preparation of reports for department leadership, legislative entities, and oversight bodies, while participating in assigned special projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records, support public records responses, collaborate with healthcare staff, and ensure all monitoring files, inventory processes, and documentation meet regulatory and contract standards.

Requirements

  • Must be currently licensed as a pharmacy technician by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
  • Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed to fulfill chemotherapy, inpatient, and emergency prescriptions.

Prior Experience

  • At least one year of experience in sterile and hazardous compounding is preferred.

  • Background Screening Requirement: The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
