Pharmacy Clerk - Retail Pharmacy

Schedule
40 hours per week:
- Monday–Friday: 8 am – 6 pm
- Saturday: 9 am – 3 pm
- Sunday: 9 am – 1 pm
About the role
The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for greeting and assisting customers, completing transactions using various forms of payment, balancing the register, bagging purchased items, processing returns or exchanges, and maintaining pharmacy neatness and cleanliness. The Clerk must have a good understanding of Point-of-Sale systems and may help with receiving merchandise and managing over-the-counter inventory. Additional duties include merchandizing products, refreshing displays, and assisting with other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers
- Complete sales transactions using various forms of payment
- Balance the register
- Bag purchased items
- Process returns or exchanges
- Maintain pharmacy neatness and cleanliness
- Operate a Point-of-Sale computer system
- Receive merchandise and assist with over-the-counter inventory management
- Merchandize products and refresh displays regularly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale computer system
- Skill in displaying merchandise
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
- Pharmacy industry or cashier experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of products and services available
- Valid and current state-issued driver’s license
- Proof of automobile insurance meeting state minimum liability coverage limits (at the employee’s expense)
- Clear driving record check with no:
- Suspended or revoked driver’s license
- 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months
- 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months
- 1 or more DUI/DWI in the past 24 months
- At-fault in a fatal accident within the past 5 years
- Leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months
- Reckless driving within the past 12 months
