Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report illegal activity
• Ensure compliance with and reinforcement of safety and sanitation regulations
• Create a welcoming environment for customers
• Maintain departmental standards, including cleanliness and organization
• Manage computerized inventory and follow company guidelines
• Answer phones and triage calls
• Promote sales and services
• Adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, cash shortages, and company shrink guidelines
• Operate cash registers and follow cashier handling policies
• Provide a stellar customer experience
• Support company health and wellness initiatives
• Work in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
• Resolve conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Age 18 or older
• Previous comparable experience preferred
• Experience with customer service, including registries, phone, and cashier
• Experience with inventory control in a retail environment
