Pharmacy Buyer I - Full Time

Responsibilities

• Process unused medications returned to the pharmacy.
• In conjunction with Buyer II, order and maintain proper pharmacy supplies.
• Organize and maintain appropriate amounts of routinely stocked drugs and supplies.
• Place orders daily as needed to ensure proper levels of inventory to meet patient needs.
• Process received medications according to the established pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Maintain stock to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained at all times.
• Provide staff with a daily backorder listing; under the guidance of the clinical team devise alternate therapies when medications are not available.
• Separate out all medications and supplies that are defective, outdated or otherwise unusable to assure they are not released.
• Monitor for and report any suspicion of medication or product diversion or theft.
• Cook up and maintain appropriate documentation of all products borrowed or loaned to other pharmacies within the HMH network. Reconcile replacements at the end of each month.
• Assist in monthly physical inventory.
• Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Typing and computer skills to utilize PC applications for purchasing.
• Integrity to work with Controlled Substances and items which could be diverted.
