Pharmacy Associate - Shipping & Packaging

About the role

The Pharmacy Associate – Shipping & Packaging role supports a closed-door pharmacy by accurately preparing, packaging, and shipping customer prescription orders, primarily compounded medications. Working primarily overnight, this role is responsible for high-volume, accuracy-critical order fulfillment while ensuring every shipment meets Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements, applicable USP standards, and internal quality and compliance protocols.

Responsibilities

• Package and prepare compounded medication orders for shipment following pharmacist verification
• Build cold-chain shipments using validated packaging methods
• Generate shipping labels and coordinate carrier pickups
• Verify patient information and order contents for accuracy before sealing
• Maintain packaging supplies and monitor inventory levels
• Meet daily volume, accuracy, and turnaround targets
• Keep the packing and shipping area clean, organized, and audit-ready
• Follow HIPAA, Board of Pharmacy, and all internal compliance requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Dependable and able to work overnight shifts
• Shipping, fulfillment, or warehouse experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs
• Perform repetitive packing and handling tasks

Schedule

1st shift - Monday to Friday 7am-3pm, 2nd shift - Monday to Friday 3pm-11pm, 3rd shift - Sunday to Thursday 11pm-7am, with occasional weekend coverage as needed
