Shipping/Receiving Associate (Pharmaceutical Distribution)(ENTRY LEVEL)

About the role

We're looking for a Shipping/Receiving Associate for our new pharmaceutical distribution facility. The ideal candidate will either know or be willing to learn: drug storage, shipping, recordkeeping, suspicious orders/diversion concerns, returns, recalls, record retention, and regulatory compliance. You will also be involved in repackaging activities. A clean professional/regulatory background is required, and you must be capable of supporting NABP accreditation and state licensing activities. You will likely need to take trainings and tests to become accredited as our secondary/backup Designated Representative (Pharmaceutical Distribution).

Responsibilities

• Execute the shipment schedule and daily shipping/receiving activities.
• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Compare identifying information, counts, weights, or measures of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
• Follow up on daily incoming receiving to ensure goods are received in a timely manner.
• Maintain daily receiving and inventory logs.
• Prepare packing slips and other shipping documents for outgoing shipments.
• Report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Follow up on the shipping schedule and requests, verifying if shipments are shipped on time.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost while maintaining quality standards.
• Identify and handle suspicious material to maintain quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers, internal customers, and external customers.
• Properly and accurately pack and label various types of shipments.
• Ensure packing supplies (boxes, packing materials, labels, etc.) are properly stocked.

Requirements

• Preference for shipping/logistics experience in pharmaceutical distribution, wholesale distribution, or pharmacy operations (though we will provide training as this is an entry-level role).
• No formal education requirements.
• Must be willing to take the Designated Representative test for each state as required to serve as our backup Designated Representative.
