Pharmacy Aide
Duties Description
Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, perform a variety of routine manual and clerical tasks in the receipt, storage, preparation, repackaging, issuing, and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies, assists in the preparation of standard solutions and maintains pharmacy records.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma issued by an appropriate educational authority
- Either
- One year of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- A current pharmacy technician certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- A certificate or diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists
Temporary Appointment Information
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). At a future date, employees hired under NY HELPS may have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
