Responsibilities

• Explain pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug classification, autonomic pharmacology, cardiovascular drugs, antimicrobials, endocrine agents, central nervous system drugs, chemotherapy agents, and drug interactions.
• Teach receptor binding mechanisms, dose-response relationships, therapeutic indices, and adverse effect profiles to prepare students for nursing licensure, pharmacy boards, and medical practice.
• Break down drug mechanisms of action, absorption-distribution-metabolism-excretion pathways, and dosage calculations.
• Guide students through comparing drug classes, analyzing patient-specific pharmacotherapy considerations, and interpreting drug interaction charts.
• Apply pharmacological principles to clinical scenarios, emphasizing safe medication administration and patient safety.
• Adapt instruction using drug classification tables, clinical case scenarios, and NCLEX or board-style practice questions.
• Identify and address concepts students commonly struggle with, using multiple teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of pharmacology, including advanced subject mastery in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug interactions.
• Familiarity with pharmacology curricula for nursing, pharmacy, and medical programs.
• Ability to explain complex topics like cytochrome P450 interactions and dosage calculations accurately.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
