Pharmacist - Sharp Tri-City Medical Center - Variable Shift - Per Diem

Hourly Pay Range: $77.250 – $84.980. The stated pay scale reflects the range Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position; actual pay rate and pay grade will depend on years of experience, skills, education, alignment with internal candidates, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.

Schedule

• 10-hour variable shifts: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm or 10:30 am – 9:00 pm
• Weekend work as needed
• No on-call required

Responsibilities

• Perform professional functions related to providing drug information, participating in clinical programs, dispensing, and compounding drugs
• Manage drug control within the pharmacy and distribution throughout the hospital
• Assist in other areas as directed by the Director of Pharmacy
• Assume responsibility for the operation of the Pharmacy in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Manager
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment, including unit-based safety and infection control requirements
• Provide appropriate drug information for all clinical programs
• Compound and dispense drugs according to policy
• Responsible for drug control and distribution throughout the hospital

Requirements

• California Pharmacist License – REQUIRED
• ACLS or PhART (Pharmacy Advanced Resuscitation Training) certification – must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Maintain a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education per license period (2 years) – REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
• PGY1 – 1 year acute care hospital experience
• Experience with controlled substances
• Oncology experience (for OP Infusion Oncology department only)

• Current knowledge of drugs, their actions, availability, and IV incompatibility
• Professional competence in all phases of pharmaceutical care
