About Elliot Retail Pharmacy
Elliot Pharmacy provides high-quality and personal prescription services to patients in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, including those whose providers are outside the Elliot network. We offer a variety of value-added services, including vaccinations, adherence packaging, meds-to-beds, shipping, and non-hazardous compounding. In addition, we are a designated specialty pharmacy with access to many hard-to-find medications. Our pharmacists, technicians and front-store team are committed to building long-term collaborative relationships with our patients and helping them become and stay well.
Responsibilities
- Interprets, reviews and submits requests for prescription prior authorization.
- Interprets physicians’ prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs and retrieves prescription information from the electronic medical record and provides next steps for patient access.
- Consults with patients, physicians and clinic office staff regarding access to and use of medications.
- Conducts quality assurance and drug utilization reviews.
- Follows clinical guidelines set by medical staff and evaluate patient history in making clinical decisions.
- Covers for pharmacy technicians as needed.
- Coordinates medication patient assistance programs and low-cost alternatives for patients.
- Provides medication counseling to patients.
- Provides In-service education and other educational services upon request to Elliot Physician Practices, staff and patients.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Pharmacy from an institution accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
- Experience: Five years of previous health system pharmacy experience preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Current New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy; Board Certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of pharmacy practices and regulations.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
