Pharmacist, PRN

About the Role

The pharmacist provides direct patient care, medication management, and ensures safe medication use within departmental policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter medication orders, dispense drugs, and monitor drug therapy for diverse patient populations.
• Perform patient education, care management, and review prescriptions for safety and efficacy.
• Handle prior authorizations, provide medication-related education, and develop patient care plans.
• Communicate effectively with prescribers, healthcare staff, and patients, and respond promptly to drug information requests.
• Supervise pharmacy support staff, verify tasks, and act as a liaison between pharmacy and care areas.
• Conduct lab reviews, clinical consultations, and participate in departmental initiatives and education.
• Mentor pharmacy technicians, students, and new team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Licensure or eligibility within four months; knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Strong understanding of medical and pharmacy terminology.
• Good mathematical, computer, and aseptic skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
